Men wearing traditional Assamese attire play the khol, a traditional percussion instrument of Assam, as they participate in an attempt to create a Guinness record, in Titabar, about 350 kilometers (219 miles) east of Gauhati on Sunday. A total of 14,833 people participated in the event which has already created an Indian record, according to officials.

The participants, between 11 to 80 years, were dressed in the traditional attire of a dhoti with a thin gold border, kurta, seleng chador (silk shawl), thekeru potia (turban) and gamocha (towel).
