The number 786 may be spiritually special for Muslims but did you know that it holds significance for superstar Amitabh Bachchan too? When Bachchan posted his 786th tweet in June, the actor got emotional on microblogging site Twitter as he believes the number is responsible for saving him in reel and real life.
In 'Deewar', 786 is the number assigned to Bachchan's character Vijay Verma, who is a dockworker. Bachchan tweeted, 'In Deewar the 786 Billa in his coat pocket saved him when he was shot at .. when it dropped out in the climax, he was shot and died.'
He also believes that the number helped him survive, when he suffered a near-fatal injury on the sets of 'Coolie'. 'In Coolie climax, the 'chaadar' draped over his body though shot at saved him .. many stories that relate to T786..' tweeted the actor. In the movie, Bachchan's character's badge was numbered 786.
Bachchan's popularity soared new heights after 'Deewar' was released and even his 'lucky' number found fans. Bachchan tweeted, 'After the release of Deewar, number plates of cars and necklaces and pendants bearing #T786 number became most prominent !!'
