Ugly: Leander Paes
Indian star Leander Paes, who had won a bronze medal in Atlanta, returned empty handed and with his tail between his legs from London. After no one wanted to partner him, Paes paired up with rookie Vishnu Vardhan who was making his Olympics debut. Paes questioned Vardhan's capability before the pair set off for London – a move that could have done little to boost the spirit of his partner, and the duo crashed out of the men's doubles event. Leander also partnered Sania Mirza (who has accused the players and AITA of 'chauvinism') in the mixed doubles but also eventually ending up exiting after a loss in the quarter final stage.
