Newbie Dev Goel takes the highway for his upcoming Bollywood debut with actress Adah Sharma, in his father Jyotin Goel's production, 'Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke'. When his best friend (Adah) and he decide to hit the road from Mumbai to Pune, a madcap journey follows, blurring the lines of love and friendship. Many plots in hindi flicks have changed tracks during road trips by the protagonists in the story. Here are some which we love the most:
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara This inspiring three week road trip by three friends Kabir (Abhay Deol), Imraan (Farhan Akhtar) and Arjun (Hrithik Roshan) will get you packing in no time. Each friend chooses the ultimate sport that the other two HAVE to participate in. Along the way, old rivalries, new relationships and life-changing decisions join the bandwagon, making this a trip few would ever forget.
Anjaana Anjaani Kiara (Priyanka Chopra) and Aakash (Ranbir Kapoor) meet each other on the George Washington Bridge- as they are both contemplating suicide. Making a pact to die on Dec 31st, 2009, they set off on a road trip to check their 'things to do before you die' lists. But surprise, surprise! The two find themselves falling in love. Do they commit suicide after that anyway? That forms the second half of the film, so watch and find out.
Dil Chahta Hai This cult film on love and friendship made Goa the ultimate getaway with your chaddi-buddies. Akash (Aamir Khan), Sameer (Saif Ali Khan) and Siddharth (Akshaye Khanna) are poles apart, but bonded close. They plan a vacation to the land of beer and beaches, and the trip that followed made anyone watching (that’s us!) green with envy.
Jab We Met Geet (Kareena Kapoor) is a non-stop jabber-box, whose rail trip home is thrown off track when she tries to help her co-passenger Aditya Kashyap (Shahid Kapoor). The two miss the train and are stranded bang in the middle of nowhere. Holding Aditya responsible for missing her train, Geet asks him to ensure she reaches home safely. The two then take to the road till her hometown, Bhatinda. The love story that developed through the idyllic journey is one romantics swear by to date!
Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd Six couples from different walks of life discover themselves and their partners in new light, in a drama-filled honeymoon trip to Goa. There's something here for every married couple!
Mr and Mrs Iyer Set in the backdrop of communal violence, the story of 'Mr and Mrs Iyer' is an engaging one. Meenakshi Iyer (Konkona Sen Sharma) is aboard a bus with her son, on her way home to her husband. A handsome photographer Raja Choudhary (Rahul Bose) takes the seat beside her. But when Hindu militants come aboard looking for Muslims, Raja tells Meenakshi that he's actually travelling under a fake name and is Muslim. Meenakshi saves him by introducing him as Mr. Iyer, her husband. The journey that follows is a poignant story.
