Sending a message on Facebook or on Twitter is a strict no-no. It's impersonal, lacks emotions and is quite stupid. If you want the girl of your dreams to go out with you, woo her like a man, not like a stalker.

Through her friend
So, you are pally with her best friend or have bumped into her childhood buddy, but it doesn't mean that you ask your chick out through her friend. You don't want her friends making fun of you and you definitely don't want your crush to think that you might be interested in her friend (!) on some level.

After getting drunk
Sure, when you are drunk, your inhibitions are lowered and you can speak an entire sentence without fumbling, but that's not an excuse to ask her out on a first date. For one thing, she might feel that you wouldn’t remember the conversation in the morning (which you wouldn't) and for another; she might not be as comfortable going out with someone who can't handle his drinks.

You have just spotted your girl at the mall and are mustering up the courage to ask her out. DON’'T! At a public place, a girl might not be able to say no, even if she wants to, as she is conscious about her surroundings. Also, think of this, what if she wants you to give the 'chappal on your cheek' treatment? Would you like the whole city and its mother to know about it?

Avoid using 'date', 'would you'
Instead of saying 'would you like to have coffee with me?', try something like, 'what about coffee tomorrow?' It's more casual and will not make her tense up. It's also quite vague as she wouldn’t know if it's a date or not, whether you have the hots for her not. So chances are, she wouldn’t say no.

Don't be a creep and stare at her for months before actually approaching her. It will not only freak the daylights out her, but also make you an instant 'enemy' on her list. If you want her to go out with you, build up a foundation and don't just stare and assume that she would get the point.
