Badminton: Saina Nehwal who won the Indonesia Open in June is one of India's brightest hopes at the London games. Saina and Parupalli Kashyap will represent India at women's and men's singles events respectively. Jwala Gutta and Valiyaveeti Diju will compete in mixed doubles and Gutta will also partner Ashwini Ponappa for the women's doubles. [In pic, Saina Nehwal]

Boxing: A total of eight boxers have qualified for the London Olympics. India's star, Vijender Singh, who made us proud in Beijing, will compete for the Men's middleweight (75kg) title. Others vying for a medal include M.C. Mary Kom, Shiva Thapa (Bantamweight 56kg), Manoj Kumar (Light welterweight 64kg), Vikas Yadav (Welterweight 69kg), Devendro Singh (Light flyweight 49kg), Jai Bhagwan (Lightweight 60kg) and Sumit Sangwan (Light heavyweight 81kg). Hockey: India's hockey team stands in Pool B of the men's tournament along with Holland, Belgium, Germany, South Korea and New Zealand. India is considered to be a strong contender after a decent performance at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia. [In pic, Sardar Singh]

Wrestling: India won 5 quotas in wrestling for the London Olympics. Ace wrestler Sushil Kumar will compete in the Freestyle 66 kg category. He will be joined by Amit Kumar (Freestyle 55 kg), Geeta Phogat (Freestyle 55 kg), Yogeshwar Dutt (Freestyle 60 kg) and Narsingh Yadav (Freestyle 74 kg). [In pic, Sushil Kumar]

Shooting: As Abhinav Bindra braces himself to get India another gold at the Olympics this month in the 10 m air rifle category, he is joined by Gagan Narang (10 m air rifle). Others joing the duo in London will be Vijay Kumar (25 m rapid fire pistol), Sanjeev Rajput (50 m rifle 3 positions), Ronjan Sodhi (Double trap), Joydeep Karmarkar (50 m rifle prone), Manavjit Singh (Trap), Rahi Sarnobhat (25 m pistol), Heena Sidhu (25 m pistol), Annuraj Singh (10 m air pistol) and Shagun Chowdhary (Trap). Tennis: The recent fiasco involving egos and tantrums, has finally resulted in Leander Paes partner Sania Mirza for the mixed doubles title, while Paes will partner Vishnu Vardhan in the men’s doubles category. Sania Mirza will partner Rushmi Chakravarthi for the Women's doubles. Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna will pair up for the men's doubles title. Somdev Devvarman is India's sole entry in the men's singles event. Somdev, Sania and Rushmi have got a wild card entry to the games.
