Mithali Raj: The skipper of the Indian women's team, Mithali Raj has high hopes pinned on her. She's globally the number one ranked player and has played 142 games and scored 4491 runs at an average of 48.29. After Anjum Chopra's retirement, Mithali has been the mainstay of the Indian batting attack. She has 3 hundreds and 36 half-centuries to her name.

Jhulan Goswami: India's leading wicket taker, Jhulan leads the pack with 147 wickets at an economy rate of 3.17. The former skipper is India's leading pace bowler and with the favourable home conditions on her side, we expect Jhulan to strike at crucial intervals and deliver the goods. Besides her talent with the ball, Jhulan can also contribute with the bat and counts as an all-rounder in the Indian's women team.

Thirush Kamini: India's opening batswoman Thirush Kamini's match winning hundred ensured the host team got off to a winning start in the ICC Women's World Cup this year. By doing so, Kamini became the first woman for India to score a century at the World Cup.

Karuna Jain: The right-handed wicketkeeper is a mainstay in the Indian women's team. In 38 matches for India, Karuna has amassed 896 runs at an average of 30.89 and her highest score remains 103. Mithali's team would look upto Karuna to put up a good show with the bat. (File photo)

Gouher Sultana: At 57 wickets, Sultana has an excellent opportunity to amass more wickets in the ongoing ICC Women's World Cup. Being the host nation, Indian pitches are bound to support spin and with Sultana's slow-left arm spin, wickets at regular intervals won't be an issue.(File photo)
