Gangs of Wasseypur Part 2, (5 hours, 20 minutes)- Anurag Kashyap's mammoth film 'Gangs of Wasseypur’s second part is set to release this week. We at in.com list out other really lengthy movies that not just made us stretch and yawn but also gave us ample opportunities to refill our tub of popcorn. Here you go!
Jodhaa Akbar, (3 and 30 minutes)- When the Mughal warrior Akbar marries the Rajput princess Jodha...yawn! The story continues for over 200 minutes. The exquisite jewellery, grand outfits, opulent sets and two beautiful actors did contribute in a big way in taking our attention away from our wrist watch. We can't help but put this one on our list.
LOC Kargil, (4 hours 15 minutes)- 5 short of 300 minutes, watching 'LOC Kargil' felt like entering the battlefield itself. You go on a yawning spree as jawans get busy beating the enemy as soon as they take a break from discussing their love stories. This one is definitely for insomniacs!
Mera Naam Joker, (4 hours 15 minutes)- A film about a clown who tries to make everyone laugh while tugging his own sorrows behind. A little less than 300 minutes, 'Mera Naam Joker' finds a certain spot on our list
Sangam, (3 hours 58 minutes)- The love triangle between Raj Kapoor, Vyjayanthimala and Rajendra Kapoor has everything a blockbuster should have. But at 238 minutes, this film is just plain long. Although, Raj Kapoor's tunes from the accordion and Vyjanthimala's 'buddha mil gaya' act hardly remind us of the clock ticking away.
Lagaan, (3 hours 45 minutes) - As Bhuvan and his novice team gets ready to dethrone the British, we watch with rapt attention as the story unfolds. Time stands still as the cricket match between the two climaxes. At 225 minutes, the movie had to be included in our list of long movies, but we bet none of you tilted your necks to look at the clock in this one!
Mohabbatein, (3 hours 36 minutes) - With a violin in one hand and a smile on his face, SRK enters the Gurukul campus, and then, and then the story never ends...Aditya Chopra's love saga at 216 minutes and four love stories long is daunting to say the least.
Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, (3 hours 35 minutes) - Karan Johar's movies with its packaged deal of good looking people, good looking locations and a barrage of cliches is usually encouraged by us. But inspite of all that if you end up fiddling with your watch, you know something is wrong. At 215 minutes, this film is unending.
What's your Raashee?, (3 hours 25 minutes) - Ashutosh Gowarikar makes it to this list once more. We don't know if it is Harman Baweja or the bad script, but after 205 minutes we didn't really care what our rashee was!
Swades, (3 hours 14 minutes) - Ashutosh Gowarikar's tale of an NRI NASA scientist who takes a trip to India is extremely heart warming but makes it to our list nevertheless. Though a 194 minutes long affair, 'Swades', nonetheless touched our heart
Waqt, (3 hours 26 minutes)- Audiences gave this Yash Chopra film thumbs up at the box office. With a spectacular star cast and mellifluous music, even after 206 minutes, ‘Waqt' kaise nikla, pata hi nahi chalta.
