Amitabh’s poet father Harivanshrai Bachchan is said to have had a great influence over him since childhood. Even today, the pride and respect Big B has for his father is visible in is shining eyes as he recites his poems at events. He considers his father to be his guru who taught him the way of life.

Abhishek Bachchan
Big B considers Junior Bachchan more of a friend than son. In fact, Big B’s blogs give us a glimpse of his relation with Abhishek. “We talk of everything under the sun. His choice of the football team and its performance, my choice of what we wear, his choice of music, my choice of film, his choice of car, my choice to drive it.” Now, we know why ‘Paa’ was such a great film!

Rajiv Gandhi
The late Prime Minister was a childhood friend of Amitabh Bachchan. They first met when they were four years old. In his interviews, Amitabh admitted that it was Rajiv and Sanjay Gandhi who introduced him to the great world of cinema. Big B used to watch European films that were specially screened for the Gandhi family at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. There were rumours that it was with Rajiv’s recommendations that Amitabh’s landed roles in Bollywood movies.
Ajitabh Bachchan
Amitabh has always been close to his younger brother Ajitabh. In fact, Ajitabh even used to handle and invest Amitabh’s money until there were some squabbles in the family regarding the finances.

Amar Singh
Honestly, we never approved Big B’s friendship with politician Amar Singh. However, Amar Singh is more of a family than a friend to Amitabh. Amar was always seen at the family functions that the Bachchans hosted. Even after Amar Singh’s name was tainted in the cash-for-votes scam, Amitabh did not distance himself from the politician. Big B even paid a visit to the ailing Amar Singh when he was being operated at the AIIMS.

Shatrughan Sinha
Contrary to reports of rivalry, there was a friendship between Shatrughan and Amitabh. The actors still visit each other during family functions and emergencies. Shatrughan recalls an incident which shows Amitabh’s love for him. Once during the shooting of Bombay to Goa, Amitabh who was very much into his character hit Shatrughan very hard during the fighting scene. Seeing Shatrughan in pain, Big B could not control his tears.
