There might be smoke without fire but there can’t be a Bollywood masala flick without its songs and dance sequences.
In.com presents to you the list of movies which were either entirely or fairly based in and around these two elements, have a look…
‘Aaja NachLe’ – Well this one was more like a grand comeback flick for our Dancing queen. And though it was very pleasing to the eye to see this diva spread her charm. But a movie also needs a script. Unfortunately the movie didn’t do that well at the box office. Madhuri has now permanently moved base to Mumbai. Hope her next movie ‘Gulab Gang’ has both - script and dance, can’t wait!
‘Chance Pe Dance’ – This movie had the maverick dancer, Shahid, who apparently has come a long way from his chocolate boy looks to being a dude. Seeing Shahid dance on screen is nothing short of a visual treat. His spontaneity is inspiring.
‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’ - Someone, somewhere is made for you was the tagline of this romantic Yash Chopra’s film ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’. The film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor. The storyline revolved around song and dance sequences which were choreographed by Shiamak Davar. Fantastic body movements, rather than steps, which made the whole movie, look grander.
‘Taal’ - A combination of A.R. Rahman and Shiamak Davar can create magic on screen. And the chemistry between Aishwarya, Akshay and Anil Kapoor depicted the emotion of tension between love and trust and dancing emoted that very well in this movie.
‘Naach’ – In this movie, both Abhishek and Antara Mali hail from middle class backgrounds who have come to Mumbai to fulfill their dreams of becoming famous. But like idealism repels commercialization and dreams are better off in one’s minds before they come out in the open. The story moves on in a way that shows the impact ambitions have on personal relationships.
