They say that three's a crowd, but in Bollywood, sometimes the nicest things come in trios. After making rounds at international film festivals and wowing the world, Abhishek Kapoor's film 'Kai Po Che' will finally release in India this Friday (February 22). The movie is a tale of friendship and Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Rajkumar Yadav play the lead roles. Will this buddy flick be as successful as Kapoor's last (Rock On!)? We'll have to wait and watch, but as we do, take a look at some other flicks that were tales of three friends...
Having three principal characters works well for Hindi films and this is no recent phenomenon. Remember 'Amar Akbar Anthony' or 'Yaadon Ki Baaraat'?
Buddy dramas that feature trios ('Dil Chahta Hai', 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', '3 Idiots') have also clicked with audiences
Comedy also loves packages that come in threes. 'Masti', 'Heyy Baby', 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama', 'Delhi Belly' and 'No Entry' are testament to that
The formula doesn't ALWAYS work and movies like 'Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat' and 'Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji' are prime examples. Which way will 'Kai Po Che' go? Only time will tell!
