'The Dark Knight Rises' has hit the theatres and so we thought it was important to remind you why Batman is so much cooler than the other superheroes on the block

Making ordinary, extraordinary: To begin with, Batman has no actual 'super powers'. He wasn't bitten by a radioactive spider, exposed to a gamma bomb or came to earth from a planet where you're born with superhuman strength. Bruce Wayne gained brawn the gool ol' way - by pumping iron and training in the martial arts. He's also a genius who invents mindblowing (literally, in some case) gadgets that he always keeps handy in a utility belt. He uses fear and intimidation as a weapon, a skill that make even the Man of Steel's abilities pale in comparison. In fact, the correct term for Batman is vigilante - and that alone makes him cooler especially since G.One's now part of the superhero club. They let in just about anyone, don't they? A shame, really.

He's always a Bat-Signal away: Have you ever noticed that superheroes always reach the scene of a crime after the villian has already caused a fair bit of damage? Well that's because there's often no way of reaching them and so in most most cases, you just have to pray that Peter Parker is done stalking Mary-Jane for the day and his Spidey sense picks up that somewhere, someone is up to no good. Fortunately for the citizens of Gotham, the Bat-Signal acts as their own personal hotline for the Dark Knight and all they've got to do is beam up a sign whenever they're in trouble

Batman has a cool car: Any regular superhero can fly but to cruise down the streets to the scene of the crime, in the hottest set of wheels in town, is the kind of cool that only the Caped Crusader can carry off. Not only a bonafide chick magnet, the Batmobile is fitted with state-of-the-art weaponry, can house additional vehicles like the Batpod and is heavily armoured. No wonder Batman spends so much time in his car. We'd never want to get out of the front seat!

He's a ladies man: While monogamy is a very good thing (yawn), there's a certain appeal about a playboy that's hard to beat. Wayne's day job is being a millionaire and you can always count on him to have a lady (or four) hanging off his arm. Sure, he's had some that meant a little more than others (Rachel Dawes), but his irresistable charm just keeps them coming. He's even managed to capture the interest of female villians like Catwoman and Poison Ivy!
