He was an advertising copywriter with Rediffusion before he turned to acting. With the film adaptation of Upamanyu Chatterjee's book English August, Bose made his debut on the big screen in 1994. Rahul Bose was paired opposite Konkona Sen Sharma in 15 Park Avenue again after Mr and Mrs Iyer. He also starred opposite Kareena Kapoor in Chameli, which won him critical acclaim.
