Rose is a TV talk show host in Vijay TV in Tamil Nadu, India. She is the first transgender individual ever to host a TV talk show in India. The talk show, Ippadikku Rose deals with current affairs touching a wide variety of social issues including traditions, taboos, rebels and culture. She was born and raised as a boy named Ramesh Venkatesan. Rose became aware of her femininity when she was young around five years old and felt uncomfortable being a boy. She started dressing as a woman when she was in her early twenties. Her family was devastated when she broke the secret to her family. Her family even looked at marriage as a possible solution after she returned from the US until they finally accepted her for who she is, although many in her family are still not willing to accept her gender identity.
