Runa Rizvi is the daughter of Indian singers Rajkumar Rizvi and Indrani Rizvi [1]. Films apart, the conversation strictly builds around ghazals, a genre that owes much to Rizvi and his unadulterated style of rendition which he has imbibed from Mehndi Hasan. Famed for the classicist dimensions he has added to the form, Rizvi has sung almost all celebrated poets of the past and present times.[2] She had sung for the Rajshri film “Uff kya jaadu mohabbat hai” along with Kunal Ganjawala .”[3] She belongs to the Kalavant gharana and has been trained in classical, semi-classical and light classical music can sing anything from Hindi film songs to Ghazals, Thumri, Folk, Punjabi Sufi Music as well as Western Pop music, with equal elan.[4] Recently Runa had rendered playback for the film Provoked starring Aishwarya Rai.[5] She sung a song(\"jaane tu\") for movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.[6]
