Shatabdi Roy ( Bengali: শতাব্দী রায় ) is an actress in the Bengali language film industry of India. She won the Bengali Film Journalists' Award for best supporting actress for the film Debipaksha in 2005.[1][2]She was born on 5th October in Agarpara. Her parents are Shailen Roy and Nilima Roy. Shatabdi Roy passed her Madhyamik from ‘Sorojini High school’ in 1985 and later become a graduate from Jogomaya college.Shatabdi Roy made her appearance in the film called ‘Atanka’ directed by Tapan Sinha was released in 1986. Earlier she had worked in a film called ‘Tina’ directed by Dinen Gupta, but was never released. She acted in and directed a new science-fiction film Friend, released in 2009. When not working on a shoot, Shatabdi teaches acting at the Shatabdi Foundation or spends time with her son Samyoraj (Tozo) and husband Mrigank. In the April-May 2009 West Bengal MP Elections she has been given a ticket from the Trinamool Congress to fight the elections from the Birbhum district[3]
