Shilpa Shirodkar (born 20 November 1973) is an Indian actress and model who enjoyed a period of popularity in the 1990s. She is younger sister of actress Namrata Shirodkar. However, Shilpa and Namrata started their career together but Shilpa started with films and Namrata with modelling . She is grand-daughter of the famous Marathi actress Meenakshi Shirodkar, who starred in Marathi film Brahmachari (1930s), and was the first actress to wear a swimsuit and gambol in a pool, albeit to depict Lord Krishna bathing in the Holy river Yamuna with his gopis. She made her film debut with the 1989 film Bhrashtachar. She has appeared in successful films such as Kishen Kanhaiya (1990), Hum (1991), Aankhen (1993) and the critically acclaimed Mrityudand (1997). She quit acting after her marriage like her sister Namrata. Her last film appearance was in the 2000 film Gaja Gamini. In her short film
