Smita Thackeray, a Hindi Film producer-politician is the wife of the Bal Thackeray's son Jaidev Thackeray. Smita got her graduate degree from Ruparel College in Mumbai. She has also worked as a passport office receptionist in same place. At that time, she was in love with Jaydev Thackeray and got married with him. On 27th October 2004, she got divorce but she continued to live in her in-laws' place and supported Bal Thackeray - her father-in-law. Three years ago, Jaidev left home but Smita lives on the first floor of Matoshree and Balasaheb on the second. Smita Thackeray is a Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray's daughter-in-law and also an Hindi film producer. Smita Thackeray has been a film producer and financed projects like Haseena Maan Jayegi in 1999. It was her first production, directed by David Dhawan. In this movie, main characters are Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Karishma Kapoor and Pooja Batra. In 2005, she had produced next movie Hum Jo Keh Na Paaye. The film Sandwich (2006) was also produced under Smita. It is comedy movie, Govinda played lead role with two wives played by Raveena Tandon and Mahima Chaudhary. Her last production film was Mohit Hussein's Kaisay Kahein (2007). Smita has also acted in Arun Nalawade's Shri Siddhivinayak Mahima (2007). Recently, she will produce a mega-budget mytho cum fantasy based TV serial, Kalki on COLORS channel. Smita is a film producer, housewife and added to the list as social worker. Smita is an active social worker; she is connected with the betterment of the community and has done some work for it. She conducts the Mukti Foundation which aims at creating alertness between people regarding AIDS and helps the poor people. Many shows are also organized by Smita and invited big stars including Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Smita Thackeray is a very brilliant learner, good observer and daring person.
