Smita Thackeray, a Hindi Film producer-politician is the wife of the Bal Thackerays son Jaidev Thackeray. Smita got her graduate degree from Ruparel College in Mumbai. She has also worked as a passport office receptionist in same place. At that time, she was in love with Jaydev Thackeray and got married with him. On 27th October 2004, she got divorce but she continued to live in her in-laws place and supported Bal Thackeray - her father-in-law. Three years ago, Jaidev left home but Smita lives on the first floor of Matoshree and Balasaheb on the second.
