Teko Modise (born December 22, 1982 in Soweto, Gauteng) is a South African football (soccer) midfielder for Orlando Pirates in the Premier Soccer League and South Africa. He was born in Meadowlands, Soweto but spent most of his playing career in Limpopo playing for the now defunct Ria Stars and City Pillars, respectively. Modise has a fantastic first touch, and the ability to split defences open with pin-point passing. His moments of magic, however, don’t detract from his knack of keeping things simple – something the PSL seems to lack, incongruously enough. He was voted Mvela Golden League Player of the Season while playing for City Pillars during the 2005/2006 season. In 2008, he became the inaugural PSL Footballer of the Year. Modise was recently appointed ambassador by global company McDonald\s for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
