The film presents the continuing late-19th-century adventures of Chinese folk hero and doctor Wong Fei-Hong (Li), who arrives in Canton for a medical conference. Unfortunately, the city is about to start a revolution as the fighting between the anarchist White Lotus Clan and the pro-democracy rebels heats up and threatens the livelihood of the city. Wong Fei Hung (Jet Li) is traveling across the dusty west with Aunt Yee and Seven. He stops to rescue a blonde gunfighter named Billy. The band is soon attacked by Indians, Hung, Aunt Yee and Seven lands in a river. Wong conks his head on a rock and loses his memory. He is saved by the Indians. Eventually he makes it into town, and his crew help restore his memory. Then some evil white guys plan a bank robbery and pin it on the Chinese. Inexplicably, the same evil white guys ride into town blowing everything up, which saves the Chinese from being hung.
