Subhash Nagre (Amitabh Bachchan) is wealthy and influential. He uses his might to get justice to those who are unable to do so through the regular means of a court and judiciary. Nagre's family consists of his wife Pushpa, his sons Vishnu (KayKay Menon) and Shankar (Abhishek Bachchan), Vishnu's wife Amrita and a grandson. Shankar had been studying in the USA and the family is thrilled when he returns, especially with girlfriend Pooja in tow. Vishnu is not very well educated and has a tough personality. He needs to be kept on a tight leash as he tries to misuse his father's influence time and again. Nagre is quite disappointed in his elder son, especially when he commits murder out of sheer temper. Nagre does not stop Vishnu's arrest and thus makes an enemy of his own son. Things take a downward trend in Nagre's life as someone tries to frame him for murder. Shankar had never been involved in his father's activities. Now it appears that he will have to help Nagre. But what about Pooja? Will she want to marry someone who is connected to the underworld? Can Shankar still stay out of his father's affairs?
