In the present, Rick (Brendan Fraser) and Evelyn (Rachel Weisz) continue to discover new artefacts during an excavation in Egypt. Their eight-year-old son Alex (Freddie Boath) is along with them. They find the bracelet of Anubis. But it looks like someone else is also after the bracelet. High Priest Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo) has been brought back from the dead again and he needs the bracelet to control the Scorpion King's army. He takes Alex hostage. Will Rick and Evelyn get back their son alive?
