An Egyptian, Anwar El-Ibrahimi (Omar Metwally) is suspected of a terrorist bombing. He is on a flight from Africa to Washington DC when he disappears without a trace. His American wife, Isabella (Reese Witherspoon) and CIA operative Douglas Freeman (Jake Gyllenhaal), try to find him. That's when they find out that he is at a secret detention facility somewhere outside the USA.
