Raghu (Sanjay Dutt) lives with his family in a chawl in Bombay. His elder brother, Vijay (Mohnish Behl), is educated but jobless. Raghu has not even cleared his matriculation and has become the leader of the unemployed boys in the neighborhood. He starts a small business with help from his father. He opens a pav-bhaji stall trying to make a living out of it. But gets into a scrap with gangsters...
Raghu (Sanjay Dutt) lives with his family in a chawl in Bombay. His elder brother, Vijay (Mohnish Behl), is educated but jobless. Raghu has not even cleared his matriculation and has become the leader of the unemployed boys in the neighborhood. He starts a small business with help from his father. He opens a pav-bhaji stall trying to make a living out of it. But gets into a scrap with gangsters and ends up becoming a don himself, under the patronage of the home minister Baban Rao Kadam (Mohan Joshi). He then marries a prostitute named Sonu (Namrata Shirodkar). Raghu is tired of the killing and hooliganism and wants to get out of the ugly underworld for the sake of his wife Sonu and their son. Will it be easy for him to come out of the sleazy world of crime?
