The Malhotras and the Khans originate from India and are settled in London. Manmohan Malhotra (Rishi Kapoor) is married to Bebo and their daughter is Jasmeet (Katrina Kaif). Imran (Upen Patel) is the son of the Khans. The second generation Indians Jasmeet alias Jazz and Imran have both grown up to become very English and find anything Indian quite anathema. Manmohan is very keen that his daughter should marry an Indian. While on a trip to his native land along with his family, he gets Jasmeet married to Arjun Singh (Akshay Kumar). Jasmeet returns home to London and informs her father in no uncertain terms that she refuses to accept her marriage to Arjun and that she intends marrying Charles Brown, whom she loves. While Imran loves Susan. But what happens when Jazz meets Charles' family and friends? She's treated like a lowly being. On the other hand, Imran is asked by Susan's parents to convert to Christianity and change his name. They also insist that he give it in writing that he is not associated with terrorists. Will love continue to prevail under the circumstances? And what happens to Arjun who appears to have been demoted from the position of husband to best man?
