Mini (Neelima) lives with her lawyer father, Jagat Narayan (Parikshat Sahni). She falls in love with Ketan (Suraj Chaddha) and wants to marry him. They both are at college and her father refuses to allow the marriage. Mini and Ketan elope and get married. But very soon their money runs out and they are forced to stay with friends. Mini gets pregnant and gives birth to a son. Still Ketan has not found work. In an act of desperation, Mini takes up a modelling job where she pretends to be unmarried, let alone mother of a son. Later, Ketan also becomes a successful singer. He also pretends to be a bachelor to impress his female fans. Their son, who feels neglected, runs away from home and goes to court, asking for a divorce from his parents.
