Joseph Braganza and his wife Flavy, devout Catholics, are both deaf and mute. They live in Goa and make a living by selling soap bars door to door. Flavy gets pregnant and gives birth to a girl who they name Annie. Much to their delight, Annie can speak and hear. Few years later Flavy gives birth to a son, Sam, who can also hear and speak. A few years later, Sam dies in an accident. Joseph loses faith in God, unable to make a living selling soap, he opens a toy factory and the family prospers. Annie grows up, she takes up music and singing. Soon she meets with a handsome young boy named Raj and both fall in love. Joseph dislikes Raj, because he is Hindu and not a resident of Goa. He fears losing Annie forever and thus their contact with the world. When Annie gets pregnant with Raj's child, Joseph is enraged, he asks her to abort. Annie refuses, so Joseph asks her to leave his house. Will Joseph, Flavy and Annie ever re-unite?
