“The fourth season of the ICC World Twenty20, also known as World T20 2012, will witness Sri Lanka host the high-profile event from September 18 to October 7, 2012. England, having won the last season at Caribbean Islands in 2010, will look forward to re win their title against 9 other Test playing nations. Also joining these ten teams would be the ICC Associate members, Ireland and Afghanistan. These 12 teams will be divided into three groups (each group containing four teams) from which the top two teams of each group will be proceeding to the Super Eights. Split into two groups, the Super Eights will see the four teams in each group competing for the top 2 spot to proceed to the Semi-Finals and then consequently, to the Finals. The winning team will thus be declared and honoured by the title of World T20 Champion 2012. The stakes and risks are high and the competition is going to be thoroughly intense and one of its kind. While the juggernauts of Cricket will look to assert their supremacy, the minnows will want to grab their best opportunity to announce their arrival and put their best foot forward on the World stage. Either ways, Cricket is sure to be the winner.”
