Chishty release renews hope for Sarabjit Singh

last updated on April 12, 2012 at 10:37 am Ibnlive

The release Pakistani doctor Khaleel Chishty in Ajmer has brought a new ray of hope for the family of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh. The death row convict has been languishing in a Pakistani jail after he was found guilty in the 1990 Lahore serial blasts case.

Meanwhile, Chishty walked out of an Ajmer jail on Wednesday after the Supreme Court granted him bail on humanitarian grounds. But he's been told not to leave Ajmer just yet as his mercy plea is pending with the Rajasthan Governor.
