Self-proclaimed Godman Asaram Bapu is facing ire from the public and political outfits alike after making a controversial statement about the Delhi Gangrape case. Asaram held the rape victim responsible for the brutal incident stating that the girl should have called the rapists her brothers and begged them to stop. He went on to claim that had the girl recited Saraswati mantra, she would not have boarded the ill-fated bus. The statement has attracted sharp criticisms from all quarters.
