Marking the country's unprecedented success in the pool, swimmers of France are now on top in Olympics. The winners showed off a hoard of medals at the London Games.

21 year old Florent Manaudou won her first gold in the 50 metres. Manaudou said his Olympic champion sister Laure, who won gold in the 400 freestyle in Athens 2004, helped him. In London, France have stormed to gold with some surprising upsets unseating the defending U.S. team in the 4x100m relay, home favourite Rebecca Adlington in the 400m freestyle and the U.S. again in the mens 200m freestyle.
