Originally composed for the film Vicky Donor directed by Shoojit Sircar, this song has been written by Ayushmann Khurana and his friend Rochak Kohli. During the making of the movie, Ayushmann played it for Sarcar, who insisted that the song be used in the film. On MTV Unplugged, the female parts of the song have been sung by Shannon Donald.
