Portrayal of Muslims in Bollywood

In Bollywood, more often than not, Muslim characters are created with shades of grey. Actors, however, feel that art is not restricted by boundaries. In one of the biggest hits of 2012 - 'Agneepath', Rishi Kapoor played the role of Rauf Lala, a butcher and girl trafficker. This was his first role as a villain which won him rave reviews. In Anurag Kashyap's two-part 'Gangs Of Wasseypur', which explored the coal mafia war, the ruthless Sardar Khan played by Manoj Bajpayi was the nemesis.
