The Forest: First Look

Known for making issue-based documentaries, Ashvin Kumar is all set to release his first Bollywood movie The Forest. The film is set to hit screens across the country on April 13th 2012.

The Forest has been premiered at Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose in February 2009 and was also shown at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009. The 86 minute movie has a triangular love story with a subplot of a man-eating leopard. Nandana Sen, Ankur Vikal and Javed Jaffrey will be seen playing the lead roles in the movie.

Well-known documentary filmmaker Ashvin Kumar, had to wait for four years to release his first feature film The Forest. He mentioned that the unsystematic distribution system in the industry is the reason behind the long delay. This is often a reason that is killing good content-based cinema.

The writer-director has won an Oscar nomination in 2004 for �Little Terrorist�. He also became the first Indian to be nominated at the European Film Academy for the 15-minute short film that traces the journey of a young Pakistani boy who accidentally crosses the border between India and Pakistan in pursuit of his cricket ball and is instantly branded a terrorist by security forces.
