Our favourite celebrities reveal only the glamorous and confident side to themselves in public. Away from the public eye they too have their share of insecurities and distrusts which they struggle to overcome. As Rani Mukerji’s film Hichki nears its release date, the actress is making her way around the industry asking fellow actors what their Hichki or shortcoming was, something that they had to overcome in their lives. After Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, the latest to join Rani in the promotion is Anil Kapoor.
"When I began my career I was told that my eyes are quite small and they looked even smaller when I smiled. That made me conscious about smiling. I would never smile openly, and I would suppress my natural smile. But then I overcame this Hichki. I began to stop worrying that my eyes would look small, and I worked on my smile. Now, each time I smile, I do so freely, having overcome my Hichki,” said the actor who has since carved a place for himself in the industry and continues to work even at 61.
Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Maneesh Sharma, Hichki will show Rani playing a teacher aspirant suffering from Tourette’s syndrome. The syndrome makes her involuntarily make noise in the form of ticks. The movie is set hit theaters on March 23.
