If you have been to a cinema hall lately for either Secret Superstar or Golmaal Again, chances are that you have already witnessed the latest Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli video ad for a clothing brand. The commercial was made available to the public on Friday evening on social media platforms. And it does make one wonder. Are Virushka now getting ready to marry?
The commercial shows Virat promising Anushka things he would do after marriage. Cooking seems to be high on the agenda. Sharma has in her previous interviews confessed to being a foodie but one who has little to show when it comes to her culinary skills. In the latest commercial though she is ok if Kohli isn't a superstar in the kitchen.
Interestingly this is perhaps the first time that a celebrity couple, who've been dating off screen, also signed up for a wedding commercial. The media is bound to go overboard.
It was in 2013 that the Indian cricket team captain fell for Sharma during the shoot of a shampoo commercial. The tag line for that shampoo was 'Nothing To Hide'. The two have kept up to that tag line ever since. The two have kept away from the usual 'just friends' tag and have romanced each other around the world. But while they were rather open and mature about their relationship earlier, Virushka became more reserved about their personal life post the constant trolling on social media and interviews that wouldn't go beyond questions about the two.
In an interview to a TOI Anushka said and we quote:
I will tell you why I don't want to talk about it. I was open about my relationship because I thought that's me handling something maturely and I expected people also to handle it maturely. But I feel not everyone knows how to do that. All they are interested in is scoops. 'Oh! They met.' - If you are dating someone you will meet them na? How can meeting someone become such big news? It was just too much. As an actor, I was giving some of my best performances but in an interview, the headline would always be about my personal life.Fair enough. But when the world's most loved cricketer promises to cook for one of the most talented leading ladies of Indian cinema post marriage one does hope that it would go beyond the commercial that it was meant to be.
