India is a country where Bollywood is religiously followed and over the years we have only seen it grow. Spoiling the Indian audiences with choices, we have also seen a rise in the number of Hollywood films releasing in the country. This also leads to a great clash at the box office. This week is no different as Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Badla is all set to clash with Hollywood film Captain Marvel. While everyone expected Badla to comparatively have an upper hand as it is a film produced by Shah Rukh Khan and has megastar Amitabh Bachchan in it, but the ground reality is different.
According to the sources, Badla which will see Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh teaming up for the second time on the silver screen has got fewer screens as compared to Captain Marvel. The film which is made under Shah Rukh’s banner Red Chillies has got tough competition from the Hollywood film as both the films are releasing on 8th March. But looks like the latter has already won the game. SRK, who is also known as the King of Marketing and promotions, got himself involved in the promotions of Badla but guess it didn’t help much either. If sources are to be believed, single-screen theaters are also not entertaining the Sujoy Ghosh directorial film. Instead, the Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan starrer Lukka Chuppi is being preferred.

We reached out to both Badla and Captain Marvel team to know the exact number of screens and we got to know that Shah Rukh Khan's film has got around 900 screens.

We contacted Trade analyst Atul Mohan asking about the clast between Badla and Captain Marvel and this is what he had to say. “Badla and Captain Marvel’s clash will be an interesting one as Tapsee and Amitabh are back once again after being seen together in Pink which made good Rs 74-75 crores at the box office and was critically appreciated. Whereas for Captain Marvel, it is the first women-centric superhero film from Marvel studio. Badla will be catering to the Metro city audiences and has got around 720-750 screens whereas Captain Marvel has 1100-1200 screens which states the difference.”
He also stated that in coming days, Hollywood films will only grow by heaps and bound in the near future.“The clash is very interesting as it’s the first big film (Hollywood) to release this year. From the last 3-4 years, the Hollywood market is only increasing by 12-15 %. Last year, overall Hollywood business was around Rs 900 crore whereas in 2017 it was Rs 700 crore and it will only increase in the coming years as there are many big films in the pipeline. Hollywood has created the big market for itself.” he added
Clearly, the difference between the screens will drastically affect the film's collection and we wish the best film scores big at the box-office.
