Kabir Khan’s ’83 based on Indian Team’s win at World Cup 1983 is undoubtedly a film that moviegoers are eagerly waiting for. The movie stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role and he will be playing the character of Kapil Dev. There are many other actors who are a part of the film, one of them is Chirag Patil who will be seen playing the role of his father Sandeep Patil in the movie. Ranveer and other actors have kickstarted their practice to play on-screen cricketers.
Recently, Chirag posted a picture on Twitter of a broken bat. He has captioned it as, “Practice On Beast Mode.” This broken bat clearly proves that Chirag was practicing with full power for this film. Sandeep was a middle-order batsman in Team India. Talking about playing the role of his father, Chirag had earlier said, “I’m really excited, the ’83 World Cup win is considered a milestone in Indian history and to be a part of that team is a dream come true and playing my father who’s my hero is just awesome. I don’t think any actor has ever played his father on screen, I’m a first.”
Apart from Chirag and Ranveer, ’83 also stars Sahil Kahttar as Syed Kirmani, Jiiva as Krishnamachari Srikanth, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Singh Sandhu and Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar. The movie is slated to release in April 2020.Read More
