9 years of My Name Is Khan: Karan Johar and Varun Dhawan share a heartfelt message
It was exactly nine years ago when Shah Rukh Khan’s most popular dialogues from his film, My Name Is Khan - ‘My name is Khan and I am not a terrorist,’ created rage in the entire nation. The film was welcomed with some of the best reviews, all thanks to the amazing performances. Apart from its brilliant message, this film also gave us the super hit pairing of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Today marks 9 years of My Name Is Khan and the iconic Rizwan and Mandira.
To celebrate the same, director Karan Johar and assistant director Varun Dhawan took to their Twitter handles and penned a heartwarming message. In his tweet, Karan Johar thanked both, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, for bringing the special Rizwan and Mandira to life. He also expressed his happiness of being able to present a story as beautiful as My Name Is Khan.
Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, who made their big Bollywood debut in KJo’s Student Of The Year have worked hard before making it to the silver screen. The two of them were Karan Johar’s assistant for My Name Is Khan and that’s where they learnt all the basics of filmmaking. In a monochrome image shared by Varun, the entire team was all smiles as they posed for the camera. We also had Kalank director Abhishek Verman in the frame. The actor also expressed his gratitude to KJo for giving him this opportunity.
Varun Dhawan is currently into the filming for his dance film titled Street Dancer. Karan Johar, on the other hand, is producing films Kesari, Kalank, SOTY 2, Good News and Brahmastra.
