With a fresh announcement about his next outing (which is a big one), Aamir Khan's 54th birthday celebration turned out to be an eventful affair! Like every year, Aamir met the press at his Mumbai residence for a cake cutting ceremony and an interaction. It was then that he announced he was going to star in the Hindi adaptation of the superhit Hollywood flick Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks in the titular role. Isn't that so awesome? We bet it is.
Aamir had to be quizzed for it though. A journalist asked whether he had an announcement for the fans, and there came the big revelation! "I have an announcement for fans and the media. We've finalised my next film. It's called Laal Singh Chadha and is a joint venture by Viacom 18 and Aamir Khan Productions. Advait Chandan, the director of Secret Superstar, will be helming the film. It is an adaptation of Forrest Gump, the Hollywood film. We have bought the rights from Paramount Pictures," said the superstar.

Aamir Khan May have delivered a flop last year but is already looking at his next release. #ForrestGump adaptation. All we can say is #wow . . . . . #aamirkhan #happybirthdayaamirkhan #aamirkhanbirthday #lalsinghchadha
Those looking for more details on the film will have to wait longer. The rest, he said, would be slowly revealed, adding that the full cast has not been finalised yet. The preparations are on, and while a release date has not yet been locked, it might hit the theatres sometime next year. Aamir also revealed that he will have a 'lean and slim' look in the film and will have to lose a lot of weight. 20 kgs to precise. Aamir has done it in the past, so neither should it come as a surprise nor is there room for scepticism.
"I have always loved the script of Forrest Gump. It is a wonderful story. It is a feel-good film. It is a film for the whole family," he said.
We can't wait already!
