Abhishek Bachchan is one of the finest orators in Bollywood. Anybody who has interviewed the actor or has had an opportunity to chat with AB will know that he’s not just witty, fun and well read, but also uber cool and confident. However, did you know that Abhishek Bachchan is dyslexic? That’s right. Amitabh Bachchan’s son has become a celebrity on his own today. AB Jr, who has a gift of gab, however, suffers from this problem. In fact, Abhishek has never really hidden this fact.
The actor was also seen making a very strong statement about the disorder when he featured in Aamir Khan’s directorial debut Taare Zameen Par. In TZP, Darsheel Safary’s character too is dyslexic. The movie dealt with the education system and childhood issues in a very sensitive manner. Aamir Khan as a filmmaker did make the perfect first movie. However, one could not forget how Abhishek Bachchan took the stigma off dyslexia through this movie.
That’s not all. Bachchan Jr also supports organisations that work with children who have learning disabilities amongst the many other charitable causes he strongly endorses. The actor entered movies in 2000 with JP Dutta’s Refugee that also happened to be Kareena Kapoor’s first movie. The actor, however, had to wait for four years before he delivered a blockbuster in 2004, Dhoom. Interestingly, 17 of Jr Bachchan’s films that released between 2000-2004 bombed! In the years that followed, Abhishek did dole out some memorable performances in movies like Guru, Yuva, Paa (for which the actor-producer won 4 National Awards).
Abhishek Bachchan took a break from movies before making a comeback with Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan that starred Vicky Kaushal and Tapsee Pannu alongside him. The movie earned Jr B a lot of appreciation from critics and fans alike. It was said that Abhishek would reunite with wife Aishwarya Rai on screen in Gulaab Jamun. The movie, however, is again in the back-burner after the makers got embroiled in the #MeToo controversy.
In the coming days, Abhishek Bachchan will be seen in the new season of the web series called Breathe. R Madhavan appeared in the first season and it's AB now who will take the lead in Breathe 2. The actor is being very careful with his scripts and wants to only work in movies that give him a canvas to perform. Abhishek had confessed that it hurt the actor in him when the focus was on other stars despite him being in the same frame when he did multi-starrer films. Apart from entertaining his fans on screen, Abhishek is also one of the coolest Indian celebrities on social media. The actor is often known for taking on trolls with his witty responses.
Here’s wishing AB’s baby a very happy 43rd birthday!Read More
