Chak De! India, released in 2007, remains one of the most memorable films in Shah Rukh Khan's career. It is also named as one of the most significant sports films made in Bollywood and will be remembered for a glorious depiction of Indian Women's Hockey team. The film said to be inspired by the Women's Hockey Team's win at 2002 Commonwealth Games, also starred a bunch of talented female actors including Sagarika Ghatge, Vidya Maldave, and Anaitha Nair. Marathi actor Priya Bapat, however, was approached for a pivotal character but turned it down.
Priya, who recently appeared on Famously Filmfare Marathi, revealed why she didn't accept the offer. "I refused Chak De India as I had to take my graduation exams. At that time, my studies were more important to me. And at that time, I wanted to finish my graduation and post graduation. I finally completed my post graduation and took this up as a career. Chak de was a big offer. It was working with Shah Rukh Khan for 3 months. And I said no to it without even thinking, on one call. They had a 3-month training. Later, they had a shoot in Australia for 3 months," Priya Bapat said.
