Following her pregnancy, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been quite picky about her projects. Since 2012, the former Miss World has only been a part of a handful of films such as ‘Jaazba’, ‘Sarabjit’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. Ash opted to spend more time with her family over her career for a while as she wished to be with her daughter Aradhaya during her early days.
Now that Aradhaya will soon turn 7, Aishwarya is picking up projects at a steadier pace. Reports suggest that Aishwarya is all set to get back into filming just like she used to and hopes to rule the silver screen with performances. According to Bollywood Bubble, Aishwarya has been roped in for a remake of Woh Kaun Thi? According to the report, Aishwarya has been brought in as the female lead in the official remake of the hit film from 1964. The film will be produced by KriArj Entertainment, who bought the rights to the film from the producer of the original film NN Sippy. The report also mentions that a few sources associated with the production house have said that the makers have just signed in Aishwarya but they are yet to finalise other cast members of the film.
The original Woh Kaun Thi starred legendary actors Sadhana and Manoj Kumar in the lead. Directed by Raj Khosla, it was a psychological mystery thriller. The film also starred Helen and the iconic song, Lag Jaa Gale was a part of this film. The film was remade in Tamil and Telugu, both of which had starred the late Jayalalitha in the lead.
