Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn reportedly does not want to feature in a film opposite his wife Kajol. It turns out that he recently rejected a film offer that would be starring Kajol, along with him. We last saw the duo in a film together way back in 2008 when Devgn directed and acted in U Me Aur Hum. He also voiced characters along with Kajol in a different film called Toonpur ka Superhero. Both films did not perform well at the box-office.
Ajay had a hit film with Golmaal Again and that is apparently the biggest Bollywood hit this year following the Hindi version of Baahulbali 2. According to the Deccan Chronicle, Devgn is eager to make a few more “masala hits” before working on films that are “out-of-the-box.” It appears that that is the reason for him to say no for a film with Kajol.
Devgn’s next film titled, Raid is currently being shot in Lucknow. Meanwhile both Kajol and Ajay have refused to work with friend and filmmaker Prakash Jha, who got Ajay a National Award for Gangajal. Prakash had collaborated with Devgn on other films such as Apaharan, Raajneeti and Satyagraha, but none of those films had seen as much success as Gangajal. According to Catch News, Devgn feels that Prakash Jha does not have the same spark in his films as they had before.
