With the increasing number of rape cases, eve-teasing and molestation, the best way to protect ourselves is by learning self-defence techniques. Bollywood’s fitness freak Akshay Kumar kept that in mind and launched a Women’s Self Defense Centre (WSDC) along with Aaditya Thackeray back in the year 2014. It’s a centre which provides girls with free training on self-defence. One of his recent workshops was attended by over 2000 girls and a glimpse of his training was posted by the actor on social media.
The superstar’s video shows him teaching a little girl some self-defence tactics at the camp. The young girl seems to have picked up his lessons quickly and the crowd was heard cheering and whistling for the two. He explained his post that 'The workshop was to teach them some basic self-defence techniques. Hoping it was helpful and to see more of them at our training centre' and also tagged Thackeray in it.

The Kesari actor also reportedly donated Rs 5 crore to the families of the martyred soldiers in the devastating Pulwama attack. Responding to the incident, he tweeted that the attack has made him numb and urged people to not let this be another forgotten incident.
