On Hiroo Johar's 75th birthday, her filmmaker son Karan Johar hosted a Bollywood style bash. Despite so many stars present for the celebration, the limelight truly belonged to his friends like family – Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shweta Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, designer Manish Malhotra and also Kajol having a blast by squeezing into one frame. It’s hard to remember the last time we saw KJo’s besties in full attendance. We wonder how Karan made the reunion possible!
Kajol, Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar are probably the Bollywood's favourite trio. While SRK and Karan always stayed close to each other, KJo and Kajol have witnessed some ups and downs in their friendship. Last year, KJo in an interview said that Devgn called him and accused him of saying foul things about Kajol. While Karan denied, Kajol kept silent on the matter. Things took an ugly turn during Diwali when Ajay Devgn went public with a recording of Kamal R Khan asking KJo pay him Rs 25 lakh to write favourably about Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Kajol retweeted Devgn's video, and captioned it "Shocked!"
In his book, An Unsuitable Boy, KJo said that he ‘wanted nothing more to do with Kajol’ after that. "Prior to the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, there's a lot that happened. Things were said, crazy accusations were made against me, that I had bribed someone to sabotage her husband's film. I can't even say that I was hurt or pained by it. I just wanted to blank it out. When she reacted to the whole situation and put out a tweet saying, 'Shocked!', that's when I knew it was completely over for me. The tweet validated the insanity that she could believe I would bribe someone. I felt that's it. It's over. And she can never come back to my life. I don't think she wants to either," he wrote.KJo further wrote in his book, "I wouldn't want to give a piece of myself to her at all because she's killed every bit of emotion I had for her for twenty-five years. I don't think she deserves me. I feel nothing for her anymore."

However, time does heal all wounds. First, Kajol invited Karan for her private birthday bash in August. Karan too, in a moment of nostalgia, posted pictures of the "important people" in his life, and Kajol was one of them. And now this appearance at Hiroo Johar’s birthday bash just adds to it.Karan also shared photos from the birthday celebration on Instagram along with a family portrait, starring his twins Roohi and Yash, who turned one this February. Roohi and Yash also joined their grandmother for the cake-cutting session.
