Shoebite stars Amitabh Bachchan in an important role and has been directed by veteran filmmaker Shoojit Sircar. He plays the role of an old man who has set out on a journey to discover himself. It is unknown why the film is not yet released, though some reports claim that the film is caught up in a legal battle between production houses.
Currently, Shoebite has joined the list of films that could not be released. The list includes Libaas which stars Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah. Anurag Kashyap’s first film Paanch too did not get a theatrical release though it was screened at multiple film festivals around the world.
Senior Bachchan still has a number of films in the pipeline. Thugs of Hindostan is being shot with Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif, and 102 Not Out, where he stars with Rishi Kapoor.
