Pavitra Rishta actress, Ankita Lokhande is all set to make her big Bollywood debut and she surely plans to stun her fans with Manikarnika. The Times of India reports that Bollywood’s newest heartthrob has been working hard on her skills in sword fighting, horse-riding and everything that makes her seem intimidating.
The former flame of Sushant Sing Rajput recently shared a click on social media where she is seen in her Jhalkari Bai avatar. Of course, she is just teasing her fans before the release and has cunningly blurred out the image. However, we noticed that the scenery behind her is mesmerising and even has a fort in the back ground.
Lokhande can be seen in a navvari attire along with a hairstyle that resembles the style carried by women of that period. Lokhande will be playing the role of Jhalkari Bai, who played an important role during the battle for Jhansi because of her resemblance to the Queen, Rani Laxmibai. History goes on to say that she disguised herself as the Queen and took command of the army of Jhansi, allowing the Queen to escape.
Speaking to the Mumbai Mirror earlier this year, Lokhande said "I'd never heard of her before, not many have, but Jhalkari Bai was one of the greatest heroes of our proud history. I'm honoured that I'll be telling her story to the world, fighting alongside Kangana's Rani Laxmi Bai."
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is scheduled to release next year on April 27. The film will reportedly clash with Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani-starrer Baaghi 2.
