Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar have starred together in two films Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and both movies had a very unique storyline. Now according to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the two are all set to share screen space for the third time in Stree director Amar Kaushik’s next which is titled Bala. Like Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, the story of Bala too is quite interesting. The movie is about a guy who is balding prematurely and a dusky girl from a small-town who is fighting with the society that is obsessed with fair skin.
The movie will be produced by Dinesh Vijan. Speaking of Bala, the producers said, “Through their journey, the film impresses on the fact that most of us are usually attracted to outward beauty and don’t go beyond that to understand the real person. That’s one of the reasons so many relationships are falling apart today. It’s a hilarious story but at the same time it makes you think. The two characters are very interesting and easy to relate to, so is their milieu.” The makers will be getting a team from the West to create the look for Ayushmann.
Speaking of Bhumi, Dinesh stated that the actress has a terrific body of work and also revealed that she has an author backed role in the film. “In our film too, she has an author-backed role of a modern-day girl in a country that has long celebrated fair and lovely,” Vijan said.
When he was asked why his movie is titled Bala, the producer revealed that it is Ayushmann’s name in the film. He said, “It’s his nickname really but I thought it was an apt title. It is also a tongue-in-cheek pun on his life story. Bal Aa Aaa Aaa.”
Well, we are surely expecting Ayushmann and Bhumi to make a hattrick at the box office too with this one. Bala starts rolling in March next year and the makers are planning to release it in September 2019.
